Having a chew on a fake plant

We had a good day today. He'll have been with me 1 week tomorrow. I discovered today that he loves sunflower seeds and he was taking them and eating them from my hand! So good progress already :)/>. Cheeky boy wouldn't take any vegies from my hand though! It's amazing how clever they are. He likes millet, but if I try to feed it to him while he's on my hand, he always tries to step up onto it haha

Mine aren't keen on veggies at all, except chickweed and seeding grasses from the garden. I do sometimes put some finely chopped apple in with their egg food which they will eat a little of, but they prefer the egg food without the apple. I find giving them the Nutri-berries is a good way to supplement their liking for seeds as it has small pellets mixed in with the hulled seen and also fruit and veggies too all of which gets a coating of vitamin supplement. They really like the nutri berries and also the egg food which is a good supplement to the diet. The nutri berries come in a variety of flavours so you can keep it interesting for them. I suppose they are available world wide.

Great pics! Thanks for posting them.
Don't let my big mouth and strong opinions fool you. I'm a total rookie at raising cockatiels.

Really pretty, and the photos are fantastic! How did you manage to capture them so well, without any blurring etc in the photo from your tiel moving? :)

So sorry for the late reply Areiniah. I can't really take much credit for the photos, I just have a pretty decent DSLR camera that takes awesome photo's without me trying too hard haha. I don't know if you know much about cameras, but I used it on manual mode to take these photos, and I just fiddle around with the aperture and shutter speed until the photos come up good. When you're taking a photo of a moving object, you have to set the shutter speed to go off really fast so that it takes the photo quickly, that's why there is no blur :)
