Feather loss

Hi I'm new here just looking for advice. I have had my cockatiel for 10 years and I just noticed yesterday after work that he is losing feather just above his nose he has a bald spot, doesn't look sore, he's acting perfectly fine still friendly, I was just wondering if any one knew why he's losig his feather there ?

Birds often malt (feathers fall out) their feathers for the new season. Its normal. When a bird malts for the new season then it looks really scruffy!!

But dont be too worried though. Monitor the birds.. If it is the other one thats plucking the feathers then you should separate them immidiately.

But if you think that your bird could be sick then watch him/her. If you notice that the bird is not eating as much and doesnt move around alot, or has a deep change in its personality, then take it to the vet just to be sure.
